The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, or CICA, is a government-funded organization that was established to compensate blameless victims of violent crime.
Can You Claim The CICA For Compensation?
The CICA is in charge of overseeing the administration of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme in England.
If you, a friend, or a family member were injured physically or psychologically (or both) as a result of a violent crime, you may be eligible for compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.

The CICA decides whether to award compensation based on a set of rules known as The Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme determines an innocent victim’s eligibility for an award based on a set of criteria, whereby minimum conditions must be met before a victim can apply for compensation.

The criminal incident was reported to the police as soon as possible and without delay. Any unreasonable delay may result in The CICA rejecting a claim.
The incident occurred within the last two years (In certain circumstances, you may still be able to claim from The CICA if the incident occurred more than two years ago, as the two-year time limit can be waived).
